Frank De Coninck is chairman of the Fund for Corporate Governance in DRC and of several others Funds managed by the King Baudouin Foundation to support development initiatives in Central Africa taken by individuals or launched by local organizations.

Frank De Coninck is presently Belgium’s Special Envoy for the African Great Lakes Region. He started his career in 1968 in Belgian bilateral development cooperation in Congo and joined the Belgian diplomacy in 1975. From 1976 till 2000 he was assigned to various diplomatic postings in Barcelona, Nairobi, Islamabad, Dakar, The Hague. He was Ambassador to Rwanda (1994-1997) and to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (1997-2000). From 2002 till 2006, he was Grand Marshal of the Royal Court of Belgium and from 2006 to 2010 Ambassador to the Holy See.

Frank De Coninck graduated in History at the University of Ghent and is married and father of three children.
